Warehouse Technician - Forklift (M-F)
About the role
Celgard is seeking a Warehouse Technician to join their team in Concord, NC. The role involves performing all duties associated with shipping and receiving in a manufacturing environment, maintaining the safe and secure operation of the warehouse, and ensuring inventory accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Receive and log inbound materials into the warehouse; utilize information found on packing slips and purchase orders
- Process, pick, pack, stage, and ship all outbound materials and customer orders
- Ensure inventory accuracy; participate in cycle counts
- Load and unload trucks using PIV's (powered industrial vehicles) - including forklifts & powered pallet jack and manual pallet jack
- Successfully pass forklift testing and operate a forklift in a safe and effective manner
- Successfully pass DOT physical and operate a commercial motor vehicle (26’ straight truck)
- Bands and stretch-wraps material using banding and stretch-wrapping equipment
- Accurately locate and disposition materials for manufacturing processes and/or finished goods for shipments
- Use a computer to accurately input transactions into the ERP system
- Inspect incoming & outgoing shipments to ensure compliance with applicable quality standards
- Prepare and complete bills of lading and shipping lists
- Coordinate pick-ups of recyclables
- Provide assistance in the administration and purchasing of materials
- Communicate via telephone and e-mail in a friendly and professional manner
- Prepare and retain accurate and legible records on a daily basis
- Participate in employee involvement activities and ISO 9000 initiatives
- Practice excellent safety and environmentally sound habits; plan safety into all work activities
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment that meets facility standards; participate in 6S activities
- Organize the warehouse space
- Support managing data and works with Production to ensure production throughput is maximized
- Identify areas of potential process improvement and communicate accordingly
- Maintain a professional and productive relationship with area management & co-workers
- Participate in Team Roles which is associated with Tier progression
- Palletize finish goods from pack-out, ability to check for inventory accuracy within AX, scans finish goods to rack locations
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Valid and active U.S. Driver’s License
- Previous work experience in a warehouse environment & straight truck operation preferred
- Proven ability to operate PIV’s in a safe and efficient manner
- General knowledge of shipping & receiving principles and guidelines strongly preferred
- Previous work experience in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
- Previous experience working in a team-centered organization helpful
- Previous experience with lean manufacturing principles, especially in a warehouse setting preferred
- Previous experience with tools used to scan materials (i.e., barcode scanners) helpful

Working Environment
- Work will require standing and walking for up to 80% of the time
- Lights and temperature are adequate
- You may be required to lift up to 25 pounds and/or force necessary to push, pull, or otherwise move objects
- Position is Monday – Friday 7am – 3:30pm
