Warehouse Technician

About the role

The warehouse technician ensures product is moved from the production floor and put away in the appropriate area of the warehouse while also loading shipments on various types of platforms for customer delivery. This role also moves material within the warehouse for consolidation of space and for staging of material for pending shipments.

Responsibilities

• Move product from both production lines to the appropriate location in warehouse using dual-front tire forklift
• Utilize RF Terminal to properly designate location of material within the warehouse management information system
• Observe safety processes and procedures at all times
• Maintain acceptable housekeeping standards and clean work environment through regular housekeeping and cleaning
• Utilize the in-house floor scrubber to aid in cleaning
• Complete all housekeeping activities in a safe manner
• Read staging reports for product and quantity
• Use forklift to move appropriate material and quantity of product to staging area
• Utilize RF terminal to properly scan product to staging location
• Complete all staging activities in a safe manner
• Repair/fix pallets
• Fulfill shipments by placing product on various types of transportation platforms using forklift while observing safety processes and procedures
• Generate and read paperwork and leverage knowledge of warehouse layout to efficiently load product
• Utilize RF terminal to electronically record movement of inventory to order from warehouse information system
• Follow route sheets to understand where material is stored in warehouse

Skills and abilities

• Ability to do basic mathematical calculations
• Ability to accomplish tasks without direct supervision

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Experience using a radio frequency terminal (RF Terminal or scan gun)
• SAP experience is preferred but not required

Physical requirements / work environment

• Ability to routinely lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance
• Work up to 12 hours in hot/cold manufacturing environment
• Walk/stand on concrete floor continuously for up to 12 hours
• Safeguard self with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - steel-toed shoes, eye protection (glasses, goggles, and/or facemask), hearing protection, and long-sleeved shirt (with shirt tail tucked in) as necessary for task

Pay and schedule

Hourly Rate: $21. Sign-On Bonus: $500 after 90 days, $500 after 180 days. Schedule: Wed 1p-7p; Thurs – Sat 7a-7p. Overtime as required.
