About the role

Able Distributing is looking for a Warehouse Teammate at their Wausau, WI location. The role involves counting, verifying, and receiving incoming vendor shipments and customer return material. Stocking and maintaining the warehouse, picking, documenting, and packing customer orders, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, handling shipping discrepancies, identifying non-stock, special-order material, and damaged material, completing necessary documentation for customer shipments, loading and unloading trucks, operating warehouse forklifts and other material handling equipment safely, informing supervisors of stock depletions, count discrepancies, or damaged/defective/nonsaleable merchandise, ensuring warehouse cleanliness, removing debris, informing supervisors of safety issues, assisting co-workers in servicing customers, and performing other reasonably related duties.

Responsibilities

  • Count, verify, and receive incoming vendor shipments and customer return material.
  • Stock and maintain the warehouse.
  • Pick, document, and pack customer orders in accordance with Company policy and procedure.
  • Ensure the highest levels of customer satisfaction by acting with a high attention to detail.
  • Handle all shipping discrepancies per procedures or forward appropriate paperwork to designated employee to handle.
  • Identify nonstock, special-order material, and damaged material and store in proper warehouse locations.
  • Complete necessary documentation for customer shipments delivered via third-party carrier.
  • Load and unload trucks, operate warehouse forklift and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Inform immediate supervisor of stock depletions, count discrepancies, or damaged/defective/nonsaleable merchandise that could impact customer service levels.
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety.
  • Remove empty cartons, metal bands, pallets, and other debris.
  • Inform immediate supervisor of safety issues.
  • Assist co-workers in servicing customers.
  • Perform all job functions in accordance with the company's Safety Standards.
  • Successfully complete required safety and compliance training programs as assigned.
  • Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required.

Requirements

  • 1 year warehouse receiving and material handling experience.
  • Knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center preferred.

Qualifications

  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center.
  • A high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Able to build and maintain a positive working relationship with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Knowledge of, ability to apply, and practice safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.
  • Able to learn to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment in use at the Profit Center.
  • Able to learn and operate the computer-related systems used for warehouse operations.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
