About the Role
The forklift operator provides support by moving product from the warehouse and HPP production areas, loading and unloading docked trucks, and assisting with various production tasks as needed.
Responsibilities
- Use a forklift to load and unload trucks when they are docked.
- Use a forklift and/or pallet jack to move product between the warehouse and HPP production floor.
- Retrieve product from the warehouse following processes and procedures set by the HPP Supervisor and Warehouse Manager.
- Follow instructions for placing product on the production floor.
- Retrieve and put away product in designated locations using handheld scanners and location codes.
- Follow all safety processes and procedures.
- Work at a fast pace to meet deadlines.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the HPP Manager/Supervisor/Lead, including:
- Loading or unloading tubes from vessels.
- Packing/unpacking products.
- Pricing, wrapping, taping, and making boxes.
- Sanitation tasks.
Requirements
- Must be able to operate a forklift and pallet jack.
- Ability to read location signs and scanner screens.
- Flexibility with work schedule and job duties to adapt to rapidly changing environments.
- Must be able to communicate in English (speak, read, and write).
- Legible and readable handwriting.
- Ability to prioritize assigned tasks accurately and timely.
- Ability to stand for 8 to 10-hour shifts and perform repetitive bending, twisting, and lifting.
- Ability to lift 45 lbs. regularly and up to 75 lbs. rarely.
- Must be able to work with allergenic food ingredients if coming into direct contact with them.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual ability.
Working Conditions
- Operates in a wet and cold manufacturing facility with an average temperature of 32 degrees.
