Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Load/unload trailers, store and pull product, verify Lot codes/Serial Numbers before receiving product and equipment.
- Make notations of any damaged items on the Bill of Lading (BOL) before signing, dating, and returning to the driver.
- Notify the Shipping and Receiving Coordinator as well as the Quality & Purchasing department.
- Read customer purchase orders, palletize product on pallets and ship to the correct wholesaler.
- Sort and place product and/or equipment in racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Ensure warehouse is accessible and safe for traffic.
- Assemble purchase orders from inventory stock and place the order on pallets and relocating orders to a staging area to be shipped to wholesaler.
- Record amounts of products or equipment received or distributed by verifying quantities against BOL’s/SO’s/PO’s and Net Suite.
- Assist with Weekly, Quarterly, and Year-End inventory Audits.
- Work closely with Logistics, Customer Success, Purchasing and Quality to manage and monitor inventory levels on both inbound and outbound product.
- Offer customer service (Walk-in Sales).
- Safely use equipment – properly load and unload trucks, forklift, and pallet jack operations, etc.
- Ensure forklift maintenance (proper charging, tire inflation, cleaning, etc.).
- Prepare new and used equipment for shipping.
- Keep track of warehouse supplies (pallets, wrap, cleaning supplies, etc.).
- Always organize warehouse and work area for cleanliness.
- Complete Safety Training and abide by all plant Safety policies.
- Communicate clearly, verbally and in writing, to Logistics team, support staff, and supervisors.
- Take initiative to seek new ways to do things by considering alternative approaches to common problems.
- Work with the team in the problem-solving process to collect appropriate data, analyze information, and reach consensus or recommended solutions.
- Maintain product food safety to meet and exceed the standards set by the company and its customers through Good Distribution Practices and company policies.
- Complete yearly HACCP, Allergen Management, Food Defense, and Food Fraud training.
- Adhere to the Safe Quality Food (SQF) code guidelines.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Three months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Preferred. Equipment operation certification (e.g., forklift), where applicable.
- Ability to follow systematic instructions (e.g., Process chart, SOP, inventory process, safety procedures, etc.).
- Participate effectively in a team environment by relating positively and in a timely manner to others, including meetings.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able to perform job unsupervised by making independent decisions and taking responsibility.
- Able to perform primary calculations necessary to record productivity, inventory auditing, and complete all transactions in assigned areas.
- Able to move product and equipment from receiving to storage areas and from inventory to shipping.
- Able to learn or use scanning guns and Warehouse Management System.
- Must be able to speak to, hear, and understand others in person and by phone in English.
- Must be able to handle paperwork and use a computer system.
Working Conditions
- Varying warehouse conditions, including dry, refrigerated, or freezer environments, with exposure to temperature changes from warehouse to freezer (-10 to 40 degrees), noise, dust, and moving machinery.
- Fast-paced, food-grade warehouse environment.
- Interaction with moving equipment and machinery.
- Early morning, extended shifts, weekends, and overtime may be required based on business needs.
Physical Demands
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the work shift.
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, and reaching.
- Regular lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of products weighing up to 50 pounds independently or lift 75 pounds with a team member.
- Repetitive use of hands and arms for handling cases, scanning product, palletizing, and labeling as well as packing, counting, and staging product.
- Visual acuity required to read labels, lot codes, expiration dates, and GS1-128 barcodes.
- Ability to hear and respond to verbal instructions and safety alerts.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must be able to speak to, hear, and understand others in person and by phone in English.
- Must be able to handle paperwork and use a computer system.
