Coastal Beverage Company, Inc., the leading beverage distributor in Eastern North Carolina, is seeking a service-driven professional to join our warehouse team.
About the role
As a Warehouse Team Member, you will safely move, pick, and load beverage products onto delivery trucks. Excellent time management and customer service skills are required.
Responsibilities
- Move product or material to proper location in warehouse.
- Rotate product in bins to ensure proper stock rotation and eliminate picking errors.
- Assist in repackaging damaged product following Company and vendor requirements.
- Apply required safety procedures, including wearing cut-resistant gloves and safety glasses.
- Ensure proper pull of orders based on SKU, product codes, and FIFO (First In First Out) rotation using sell-by dates.
- Mark pick tickets for out-of-stock items.
- Provide courteous and prompt customer service for in-house orders, including pulling orders and assisting with loading.
- Represent the company professionally by adhering to uniform and appearance standards.
- Report invalid SKUs, damaged product, and excessive discrepancies.
- Sign, date, and process shipping orders, receiving paperwork, and enter data into the computer system.
- Operate forklift according to Company and regulatory requirements, maintain certification, and report all accidents immediately.
- Complete daily pre-ride reports to document forklift physical damage, mechanical, or electrical problems.
- Maintain fluid levels on assigned forklift and ensure it is kept charged.
- Maintain a clean and organized working area by cleaning and reorganizing while working.
- Clean up all spills and damaged products immediately and report to Supervisor or Manager for documentation.
- Complete partial pallets and put away mixed pallets.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Load orders following safe work habits and lifting techniques.
- Report near-miss incidents and unsafe work conditions.
- Immediately report all accidents and near misses to Supervisor or Manager for documentation and correction.
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three months of similar or related experience.
- Forklift and/or walkie-rider/electric pallet jack experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, bar graphs, and procedure manuals.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to perform physical work as required.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly/constantly (>66% of workday): Walk, stand, reach (knee to shoulder), lift/push/pull exerting force over 20 pounds, hear, and see. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, depth perception, eye-hand coordination, acuity, and ability to adjust focus.
- Frequently (34-66% of workday): Handle and grasp.
- Occasionally ( Sit, climb, balance, stoop, crouch, kneel, twist trunk, carry, lift one-handed (up to 50 pounds), push, pull, reach below knee, reach above shoulder, finger, pinch, and talk.
Schedule
Monday–Friday; 4:00 AM – approximately 2:30 PM (and as needed).
