Warehouse Team Leader

About the role

Ryder is hiring a Warehouse Team Lead in Montgomery, Alabama. Work in clean, organized, and well-run facilities providing the safest supply chain environment. Products handled include beverages, using equipment such as stand-up and sit-down forklifts, clamp, and slip-sheet attachments.

Pay

Hourly Pay: $21.00 per hour. Additional $1.00 per hour when assigned to Mid Shift.

Schedule

Mid Shift: Monday - Friday, 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM.

Responsibilities

• Lead and ensure continuous improvement efforts for optimal efficiency of operations.
• Perform warehouse functions, including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
• Allocate resources and organize daily work duties to ensure optimal shift/team operational logistics.
• Inspire and guide team members toward improved Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) using appropriate leadership styles.
• Assist in providing orientation for employees and ensure they have the necessary information, technology, and tools to perform their jobs.
• Promote health and safety working methods within the warehouse.
• Handle day-to-day paperwork (e.g., picking sheets, returns, bills of lading).
• Complete and submit daily reports and propose action plans to enhance operational effectiveness and service levels.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One (1) year or more of powered industrial truck experience preferred.
• One (1) year or more of previous experience as a Team Lead preferred.
• One (1) year or more of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, etc.) experience preferred.
• One (1) year or more of previous warehouse experience preferred.
• Knowledge and/or experience with an RF scanner required.
• Valid forklift operator’s license certified.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective leadership skills.
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Proactively approaches responsibilities and maintains composure under pressure.
• Works using health and safety methods.
• Bilingual (for Québec locations only).
