About the Role
The Warehouse Team Lead is responsible for leading the safe, efficient day-to-day operations of their assigned function by giving and monitoring work assignments of area personnel, ensuring SOPs are followed, and production goals are met.
Responsibilities
- Direct workers on team to ensure safety, accuracy, productivity, and teamwork; coordinate daily work flow, respond to routine work process questions, and resolve issues through the appropriate chain of command.
- Work or assist in all areas of operation as needed.
- Follow safety rules for self and team, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and set an example for the team; correct and promptly report safety issues to management.
- Perform safety observations as instructed.
- Ensure work areas are appropriately maintained and correct any unsafe conditions immediately.
- Lead people and achieve results through others while fostering a positive work environment.
- Ensure shipping, receiving, storage, distribution, and production are performed efficiently.
- Receive deliveries, checking for shortages and damage.
- Store and reorganize stock; operate forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Maintain a clean and orderly distribution center.
- Lead and participate in routine work assigned to temporary workers.
- Maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
- Load, unload, move, and stack product and materials using forklift, reach truck, or other power equipment.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Perform other duties as assigned, directed, or requested.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Minimum of 3 years of distribution center and/or production environment experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer literacy.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems preferred.
- Ability and willingness to obtain forklift certification and safely operate various types of powered industrial trucks.
- Knowledge of computerized inventory control systems preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand up to 6 hours in a day.
- Must be able to walk up to 6 hours.
- Will continuously reach up and out.
- Will occasionally climb.
- Will occasionally push/pull from 11-25 pounds.
- Will frequently bend, stoop, reach up and out, crouch, kneel, and push/pull from 36-50 pounds.
- Will frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally team lift up to 75 pounds.
