About the role
Maverick Power is looking for a detail-orientated individual to join our team as a Warehouse Team Lead. The Warehouse Team Lead responsibilities include counting and balancing merchandise, making lists of products in stock, identifying any discrepancies or losses at the end of business operations each week, and ensuring proper inventory levels for products, equipment, and supplies.
Responsibilities
- Assists with hiring and training of team members.
- Oversees the daily workflow; oversees scheduling and assignments of the assigned team.
- Ensures inventory accuracy, housekeeping, and order of the warehouse.
- Captures and conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Ensures that work is performed safely, and that proper use of PPE is adhered to in the area.
- Learns and leads by example through 5S Methodology.
- Safeguards that the necessary equipment is available and in working order to complete assignments.
- Leads team in conducting daily safety checks on equipment, including forklift trucks, conveyor equipment, and specific portions of tractor-trailer and over-the-road trucks.
- Inspects quality and quantity of supplies and equipment delivered to the team.
- Verifies that outgoing deliveries meet company quality standards, and that order slips match and have the appropriate signatures.
- Keeps team members informed about rules, regulations, policies, and objectives.
- Maintains detailed and accurate work records.
- Collaborates with the team to identify ways to improve department effectiveness; implements viable ideas.
- Solves conflicts that arise among team members and/or other employees.
- Orders new equipment as requested by management.
- Conducts frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory.
- Operates forklift truck when necessary.
- Communicates with management about any inventory issues.
- Works with management if products are missing or damaged within a shipment.
- Performs other job-related duties as necessary or assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- An associate degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in the manufacturing warehouse field.
- Forklift operator certification preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with warehouse workers, purchasing department, and outside vendors.
- Basic understanding of inventory control procedures.
- Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
- Ability to motivate a team to accomplish objectives.
- Ability to solve conflicts among coworkers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to perform the physical labor necessary.
- Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
- Ability to understand any and all safety requirements and cautions.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting, standing, and performing repetitive tasks.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to navigate warehouse and reach items both high and low.
