Warehouse, Supervisor- Phoenix
Position Summary
This position will oversee all aspects of Bluum’s Phoenix warehouse. The role will oversee the general operations of the warehouse and its staff including oversight of inventory control, product receipt, outbound shipping, and facility maintenance. This position will ensure that the product is prepared for shipping via parcel and LTL shipments, as well as, oversee the responsibility and management of local third-party logistics companies (3PLs).
Responsibilities
55% - Shipping & Receiving
- Oversee shipping, receiving, and inventory control across MSP and Madison locations.
- Ensure accurate and efficient order picking and fulfillment through best practices and established procedures.
- Determine the most cost-effective and time-efficient shipping methods, including UPS, FedEx, LTL, and courier services, with consideration of sustainability and carbon footprint reduction.
- Cook up shipments to optimize routes for timely and cost-efficient delivery.
- Maintain warehouse organization and inventory accuracy through structured tracking and periodic audits.
- Maintain compliance with industry regulations regarding hazardous materials, customs, and trade compliance.
20% Warehouse Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop warehouse staff, fostering a culture of accountability, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Supervise daily warehouse activities, including order fulfillment, inventory storage, safety procedures, and facility organization.
- Utilize operational data and performance metrics to drive efficiency improvements.
- Manage staffing levels and productivity to align with business needs.
- Ensure proper use and security of warehouse technology systems.
- Collaborate with management to develop and manage warehouse budgets, including forecasting and cost control strategies.
- Oversee the hiring, training, and development of warehouse personnel.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to employees to drive operational excellence.
5% Facility Management
- Oversee maintenance and use of warehouse equipment and technologies that enhance efficiency.
- Ensure warehouse infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and security systems, remains operational and efficient.
10% - Continuous Improvement & Compliance
- Stay up to date with industry best practices and recommend enhancements to improve efficiency.
- Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) that align with lean warehousing principles.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and maintain OSHA certification requirements.
- Participate in leadership meetings to align warehouse operations with company goals and customer expectations.
Other Duties as Assigned
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
3+ years of warehouse experience, or prior management experience.
Experience with warehouse operations, logistics planning, and inventory management.
Travel
Some travel is required for this position, primarily between MSP and Madison locations, with occasional travel to other company facilities, training sessions, or industry events.
Work Environment
The role requires frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and use of warehouse equipment. Exposure to temperature fluctuations in warehouse settings.
