Location: Onsite - Bessemer, Alabama
Responsibilities
- Assist the Inventory Control & Logistics Manager with hiring and training of new employees.
- Schedule and oversee warehouse staff.
- Conduct physical inventory and compare results to computerized inventory as it is delivered.
- Prioritize daily work for the team based on production needs.
- Resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Replenish stock and inventory as needed.
- Ensure all stock is stored in the correct warehouse location.
- Schedule material being picked for internal and external processes.
- Collaborate with the Inventory Control & Logistics Manager to develop strategic plans and procedures to increase warehouse efficiency.
- Enforce operating instructions and safety policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience required; supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- 2+ years of Propane Forklift experience required.
- Working knowledge of warehouse operations, policies, and procedures.
- Proven ability to lead, direct, and develop employees.
- Proficiency with data entry and inventory software and systems.
- Experience with personnel decisions including hiring, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
Skills
- Strong computer skills in Excel, Word, and MS Office suite.
- Strong analytical skills with a high-level of attention to detail and business process.
- Strong skills in developing and presenting performance metrics reports.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work with others.
- Ability to gather, analyze, and interpret data.
- Ability to prepare and present comprehensive reports.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, including preparing and presenting information.
- Ability to work independently and be self-directed as needed.
- WMS experience and knowledge preferred.
- ERP system knowledge (JD Edwards preferred).
