About the role
M.S. Walker is seeking a 2nd Shift Warehouse Supervisor to lead warehouse operations during one of our most critical shifts. The role involves overseeing warehouse associates and temporary staff, ensuring accurate product movement, and maintaining a safe, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop warehouse teams
- Serve as a key operational leader, driving productivity and fostering a positive work environment
- Monitor productivity, attendance, and compliance with company policies and collective bargaining agreements
- Accurately document employee attendance, tardiness, safety incidents, and policy violations
- Encourage employee engagement and support a culture of continuous improvement
- Drive operational excellence by overseeing efficient movement of inbound and outbound products, monitoring inventory accuracy, and ensuring timely order fulfillment
- Respond professionally to inquiries from customers, sales representatives, and internal departments regarding orders, inventory, and shipment status
- Resolve operational challenges quickly and effectively while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely communication and issue resolution
- Coordinate across departments to plan and execute out-of-state, wholesale, and control state shipments
- Communicate critical operational information to fellow supervisors and management to ensure seamless shift transitions
- Support cross-functional initiatives that improve warehouse efficiency, inventory accuracy, and service levels
- Champion workplace safety by promoting a culture where safety is always the top priority and conducting regular inspections
- Accurately approve and process temporary staffing time records
- Secure and alarm company facilities when required
- Assume warehouse leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Shipping Operations Manager
Requirements
- 3+ years' experience managing a team of 5 or more people in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or logistics leadership role
- Experience supervising union employees strongly preferred
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage priorities, and drive operational results
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment processes
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills
- Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory software, and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, productive, and positive work environment
- Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced operation
