Warehouse Specialist

About the role

This role is responsible for maintaining the flow of materials throughout the manufacturing process, including picking and putting away materials required to meet internal production needs. Additional duties include staging parts for transfer shipments between facilities, supporting general warehouse operations, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives such as 5S and process improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Route items from the receiving area to the proper location within the warehouse
• Move work-in-progress parts through production operations using material handling equipment when needed, including forklifts and cranes
• Replenish point-of-use inventory locations as needed
• Stage parts for internal transfer shipments between facilities
• Electronically enter all part transactions into the ERP systems (Epicor)
• Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts and transaction verification as assigned
• Bale all used cardboard from the baler
• Perform daily equipment safety inspections
• Work collaboratively with the Warehouse team and across other departments
• Efficiently complete tasks as assigned or as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor
• Support other team members as needed, remaining flexible to perform additional duties as assigned
• Perform other duties as required to support overall production needs

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); one to three years of related experience and/or training
• Must possess an overhead crane certification, or be willing to obtain one within 60 days of hire date
• Powered industrial truck license — training and certification provided
• Strong attention to detail
• Basic ERP and computer skills
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide across all units of measure
• Basic knowledge of production, shipping, and receiving paperwork
• Ability to move between tasks efficiently
• Dependable; stays productive and completes work thoroughly and accurately
• Willingness to support other team members when needed

Physical demands

• Frequently required to stoop and bend, climb underneath machines, and work in overhead structures
• Regularly required to walk, stand, and use hands and fingers
• Must regularly reach with hands and arms
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Must wear safety glasses with side shields and steel-toed shoes while performing the duties of this job

This role provides services in a high-traffic warehouse and assembly work environment.
