Warehouse Specialist

About the role

The Warehouse Specialist accurately fills customers' parts orders, maintains inventory, processes returns, and maintains tools in a safe, timely and courteous manner using approved Duncan Aviation procedures. In addition, this position professionally responds to internal and external customer parts' inquiries using the highest standard of customer service; prepares parts for shipping, and/or receives incoming shipments in a safe, timely and courteous manner using approved Duncan Aviation procedures; and loads and unloads delivery trucks using forklift.

Responsibilities

• Fills customers' request for parts including verifying proper quantities, part numbers, part description, condition code, lot numbers/expiration dates, etc.
• Responds to internal and external customers' inquiries regarding parts issues including tracking of goods using internal and external systems and researching open orders and lost parts
• Maintains integrity of inventory system by accurately documenting parts' movements in the computer as well as the RF System (i.e. warehouse moves, order fulfillment, credits and put a ways, etc.)
• Maintains accurate inventory by performing RF cycle counts and manual counts
• Handles returns, credits and salvages as necessary
• Prepares parts shipments by inspecting and safely packaging parts, performing shipment entry, producing correct documentation and accurately coding shipping costs for billing
• Processes incoming shipments, verifies shipment with purchase orders, and visually inspects materials for damage, quantity, descriptions, part number, serial number, condition order, etc. per FAA regulations and Duncan approved procedures
• Unloads and loads delivery trucks using a forklift in a safe and timely manner. Visually inspects materials for obvious damage, properly documents any damage(s), and notifies appropriate team member of any damage
• Coordinates emergency shipments with appropriate carrier according to Duncan Aviation approved procedures as necessary
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management

Requirements

• Forklift Certification
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Shipping and Receiving Auditor designation
• Hazardous Materials Shipping Certification eligible
• Regularly scheduled attendance required
• Physical: Repetitive motion; reads small print; routinely lifts up to 50 lbs.; proficient keyboarding and data entry; tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and sitting
• Environmental: Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and noisy environments

Education and Experience

• High school graduate or equivalent required
• Minimum one year related warehousing, parts, shipping, receiving or related experience required
