Overview
The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for a wide range of duties including direct receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations, as well as overseeing the efficient receipt, storage, value-adding servicing, and dispatch of a wide variety of products. Additional duties may include loading and unloading trucks with a forklift, monthly inventory, and property maintenance tasks such as mowing grass, weed eating, spraying weeds, snow removal, and painting various items like conveyors, hoppers, bins, and aggregate equipment.
Responsibilities
- Be prompt and timely for all assigned shifts, schedules, and projects.
- Be aware of and familiar with the Company.
- Work with shop personnel when needed, painting, assisting in operating forklift when building components.
- Consistently keep work area clean and organized to promote professionalism, safety, and efficiency.
- Actively participate in any recommended or mandatory training.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with co-workers and management.
- Willingness to perform duties outside the normal scope of work (i.e., work in poor weather conditions or outside normal hours).
- Strategically manage the warehouse in compliance with company's policies and vision.
- Oversee receiving, warehousing, and distribution and maintenance operations.
- Set up layout and ensure efficient space utilization.
- Initiate, coordinate, and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all warehousing, handling, and shipping requirements.
- Manage stock control and reconcile with a data storage system.
- Perform annual cycle counts.
Requirements
- Consent to authorization of a pre-employment work screen, Motor Vehicle Record request, and drug test.
- Experience as a Warehouse Specialist.
- Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
- Hands-on experience with warehouse management software and databases.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to operate a forklift, hand truck, and other equipment.
