Warehouse Specialist - 2nd Shift (M-Thu, 4p-2a)

About the Role

The role involves operating powered industrial equipment or pallet trucks to perform all material handling assignments, including identification and transportation of material to and from storage areas, machines, loading docks, and trailers.

Responsibilities

• Familiarize yourself with the productive capacity of machines or loading schedules to ensure prompt delivery of items.
• Use snips to open loads, remove strapping and wrapping, and ensure safe disposal in designated containers.
• Place protective materials around loads and secure them for final shipment using hand or automatic strapping equipment.
• Remove and stack empty skids in designated areas.
• Safely pull, load, and move merchandise along with all related documents.
• Complete cleaning duties throughout and at the end of the shift.
• Perform safety checks on equipment prior to usage, including battery, brakes, lift controls, and computer.
• Operate labeling equipment, heavy machinery, and powered industrial equipment.
• Follow all GMP and food safety requirements.
• Meet production standards and quotas for the function being performed.
• Perform other duties as required or directed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Prior warehouse/distribution experience.
• Forklift or other powered equipment experience.
• Familiarity with warehouse and/or distribution facility operations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Basic knowledge of computer functionality.
• Good eye/hand coordination and motor functions.
• Basic reading, writing, and mathematic skills.
• Strong attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

• Standing for 98% of the shift.
• Lifting and bending for 50% of the shift.
• Working in a 35-degree environment for 75% of the shift.
• Walking for 25% of the shift.
• Ability to lift/pick 2375 cases per shift (average weight 15 lbs. per case).
• High degree of attention to prevent injuries to others.

Schedule

Monday through Thursday, 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM (2nd shift).
