Warehouse Shipping Associate

Position Summary

Granite City Electric is seeking a part-time Warehouse Shipping Associate for their Chicopee, MA location. Hours are from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The primary responsibilities include inventory management, receiving, storing, picking, and shipping materials. Pay is $21.00 per hour.

Essential Functions

• Moves material in a safe manner manually or by using forklift, pallet jack, handcart or another device.
• Accurately counts, checks, prepares, and locates items being received or shipped.
• Aids in maintaining inventory and keeping the department up-to-date.
• Completes paperwork, documentation, and data input according to established procedures.
• Acquires and maintains knowledge of GCE policies and procedures, general product knowledge, and participates in training and meetings as requested.
• Acts in a helpful and cooperative manner towards customers and co-workers.
• Participates in processes and programs aimed at promoting a safe work environment.
• Must acquire a working knowledge of the Eclipse software support system.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education And/or Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Safe driving and forklift operator courses desirable.
• Knowledge of forklift/stand up forklift operations and warehouse equipment preferred.
• Basic knowledge of computers and office suite, especially Excel, with the ability to learn.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift between 70 lbs - 125 lbs on a repetitive and ongoing basis.
• Ability to walk/stand all day.
• Must be able to bend and stoop frequently.

Qualifications
