About the role
Ryder is hiring permanent full-time Sanitation positions in Columbia, South Carolina warehouses. These roles support distribution across the US.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning restrooms, break room, locker room, and office areas per sanitation schedule.
- Cleaning the exterior areas of the building, including windows, walkways, and emptying trash containers and receptacles per sanitation schedule.
- Sweeping and scrubbing the warehouse floors and office areas per sanitation schedule.
- Wiping down racks, guard rails, and walls in the warehouse and office areas per sanitation schedule.
- Additional duties as assigned, overtime as needed.
- Maintains a safe, clean, and tour-ready facility.
- Affords assistance to Maintenance Techs as required and performs light maintenance activities such as painting.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One (1) year or more previous warehouse experience preferred.
- May be required to be equipment certified depending on location.
- Recognizes and reads location, date, and product codes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Creates and maintains professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors).
- Works independently and as a member of a team.
- Flexible to operate and self-driven to excel in a fast-paced environment.
- Manages multiple assignments and tasks, sets priorities, and adapts to changing conditions and work assignments.
- Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices.
Qualifications
- Equipment certification may be required based on location.
- Must be able to recognize and read location, date, and product codes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Pay
- Weekly pay.
- $16.50 per hour base pay.
- $5.00 per hour extra for working a weekend day.
Schedule
- Rotating schedule: 6:00 pm - 6:00 am.
- 2-2-3 schedule: 2 on, 2 off, 3 on.
