Warehouse Sanitation

About the role

This role involves unloading products from trucks, breaking down pallets, stacking products, assisting with sanitation, and performing other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Unload products from trucks; breakdown pallets and stack products on pallets
• Move or handle dry groceries, frozen foods, dairy products, produce, poultry, fish, beef, pork, and tobacco products as per order forms
• Assist with sanitation duties such as cleaning the warehouse, emptying garbage, etc.
• Fuel, wash, and clean semi-trucks/trailers based on assigned distribution center
• Verify product accuracy and check for damage upon receipt
• Select, palletize, and label products for customer orders
• Lift products weighing up to 75 lbs. frequently and occasionally
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by disposing of waste and cleaning spills
• Operate power industrial equipment such as pallet jacks and other material handling equipment
• Report damaged or out-of-stock products to supervisor
• Participate in product rotation and other assigned duties

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• One year warehouse experience preferred
• Prior experience operating power industrial equipment such as electric pallet jacks preferred
• Able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
• Able to work weekends, holidays, day and evening hours, and overtime as assigned
• Communicate effectively in English, read and interpret order forms and selection labels
• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills
• Able to follow verbal and written instructions
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced warehouse operation
• Able to operate warehouse equipment safely
• Able to work in multi-temperature areas as assigned
• Able to work regularly and on time, as scheduled
• Able to work well with others and under pressure
• Able to organize and prioritize work assignments and meet deadlines
• Able to perform assigned tasks accurately and complete them completely
• Able to handle changes in work requirements productively

Physical Requirements

• Frequent sitting, walking, standing, using hands and arms, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, and lifting up to 75 lbs. with assistance as needed
• Exposure to changes in temperature and humidity based on assignment
• Subject to a warehouse environment with moderate to high noise levels
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, days, and nights, and overtime as necessary
• Must be able to work in the condition specified for 8-10 hour shift as assigned
