About the role
The Warehouse Associate – Receiving supports warehouse operations by accurately receiving, inspecting, and stocking incoming shipments. This role plays a key part in maintaining inventory accuracy, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring products are properly organized and available to support customer orders and branch operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a “team first” environment and has a passion for customer service.
Responsibilities
- Unload incoming shipments and inspect products for damage or discrepancies
- Match incoming items to packing slips and purchase orders
- Accurately label and stock materials in designated warehouse locations
- Report shortages, overages, damages, or incorrect shipments to a supervisor
- Update receiving and inventory information in the system as required
- Communicate effectively with warehouse leads, purchasing, and sales teams
- Notify supervisors of delivery delays or receiving issues
- Work cooperatively with team members to maintain workflow and accuracy
- Follow direction to meet daily productivity and quality expectations
- Keep receiving and storage areas clean, organized, and free of hazards
- Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and product rotation as needed
- Follow all company safety policies and properly use equipment and tools
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a warehouse or physical labor role
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer or scanning tool proficiency
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in plumbing, irrigation, or wholesale distribution environments
- Familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems
- Experience operating pallet jacks, forklifts, or similar equipment
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a high-volume environment
- Dependable, team-focused work style
