Warehouse Receiver

About the role

We are seeking a highly reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Receiver at Peddler's Son. This position involves unloading and processing incoming freight according to established protocols.

Responsibilities

• Unload and receive product safely in accordance with PSP policies and procedures.
• Verify accuracy and count of product on receiving documents.
• Stage and segregate product in designated areas.
• Break down product as necessary.
• Complete all necessary documentation of incoming freight.
• Report all discrepancies, damages, and other issues.
• Maintain cleanliness in the warehouse.
• Ensure department productivity and accuracy goals are met.
• Participate in a safety culture that includes no recordable accidents and no loss time injuries.
• Avoid safety issues and hazards by watching out for co-workers.
• Participate actively in all safety programs and activities.
• Stock and maintain inventory items in designated warehouse storage areas.
• Safeguard and account for all inventory moving in and out of the warehouse.
• Work closely with management staff to ensure ample materials are available.
• Report unsafe acts, carelessness, and theft to the Warehouse Supervisor immediately.
• Maintain warehouse area in a clean, organized, and orderly fashion.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, 1 - 3 months of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Strong communications and negotiating skills are required.
• Must be able to learn constantly to meet the changing requirements of the job.
• Warehouse receiving experience preferred.
• Warehouse equipment experience (forklift) required.
• Willingness to learn and pass training for certification to work in this role.
