Warehouse - Peak Seasonal

Pella is seeking a temporary peak season Warehouse Associate for the Geneva, IL branch warehouse.

About the role

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for maintaining Pella processes with regard to the productivity, efficiency, and safety of the warehouse. Daily responsibilities include coordination of warehouse product and working with radio frequency scanners. This is a temporary position that works Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM. Depending on business needs and performance, a temporary role can transition to a full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safety, quality, and warehouse requirements and procedures.
• Follow standard work and adhere to Pella Safe Operating Procedures.
• Perform all general warehouse positions.
• Pull and load outbound trucks. Read load lists, production schedules, and requisitions, shipping orders to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Receive and unload inbound trucks, verify load lists, and move materials and items to locations, production, service, office, or other designated areas.
• Sort and place warehouse materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as order number, size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, marking materials with identifying information.
• Arrange stock parts in specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
• Use computer to verify order information and completion, such as expected receipt date, product type, color, or quantity.
• Compile worksheets or tickets from customer specifications for shipping.
• Pass and maintain Power Industrial Vehicle (PIV) certification & drive/operate material handling equipment (e.g., cherry picker, forklift).
• Operate radio frequency scanners.
• Prepare parcels for truck delivery, small package delivery, or mail.

Requirements

• High School diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.) required.
• Six months to one year of related experience preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems in standardized situations.
• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds; occasionally lift more than 100 lbs with assistance.

Skills

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and talk or hear.
• Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Pay

$23.36/hour, paid bi-weekly.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM.
