Warehouse Pallet Repair

About the role

Ryder is hiring permanent full-time Skilled and Semi-Skilled Construction Laborers to ensure expert craftsmanship at our warehouse manufacturing facility in Kapolei, Hawaii. Warehouse, Manufacturing and Construction positions pay weekly.

Schedule & Pay

• Pay: $26.00 per hour
• Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm

Work environment & equipment

• Work in clean, organized, and well-run facilities
• Products handled: Pallets
• Equipment used: Hammer, prybar, pneumatic nail gun, powered saw, grinder, and other powered/hand tools

Responsibilities

• Use a pneumatic nail gun, powered saw, and other powered/hand tools to repair or assemble pallets
• Place pallets on repair table, remove defective boards, replace with new boards, and secure boards into place
• Safely and securely repair pallets at a rate that meets company standards and in a manner that meets company safety standards
• Operate a pry bar to detach damaged boards from the pallets
• Operate a hammer, grinder and a saw to remove existing nails and use a 25 lb nail gun to nail together the components
• Manually lift 70 lb pallets from a stack to a repair table
• Ensure pallets meet and pass CHEP's quality control audit
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area
• Conduct operations in a manner which promotes safety
• Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards
• Must wear all safety equipment while repairing pallets
• Performs other duties as required

Physical requirements

• Stand for long periods of time (8-10 hours)
• Lifting up to 75 pounds throughout entire shift
• Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis
• Must be able to use proper techniques to lift a minimum of 75 lbs
• Capable of standing and walking for extended periods of time (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8-hour day)
• Able to use hands and feet simultaneously and perform repetitive movements

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 0 to 1 year in carpentry or construction background preferred
• Ability to comprehend basic math
• Ability to operate power tools in a safe manner
• Must be able to follow repair process
