Warehouse Order Selector/Picker

Summary

Fills orders for grocery stores. Selects orders using a pallet jack and a voice-activated headset. Receives, stores, and distributes material, equipment, and products within establishments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Uses the Lucas system to assemble customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets.
• Operates industrial double pallet jack or power fork lift to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
• Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power jack.
• Lifts and moves materials or items on racks, shelves, pallets, or in bins according to predetermined sequence.
• Sorts and stores perishable goods in refrigerated rooms.
• Enters records using computer.
• Works in a freezer, cooler, and dry warehouse environment.
• Ability to read, speak, and write English to operate a Lucas system and follow safety rules.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Regularly lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds, frequently lifts and/or moves up to 90 pounds, and occasionally lifts and/or moves more than 100 pounds.
• Frequent exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vibration.
• May work 12+ hours a day for 4-5 consecutive days.
• Work in a noisy environment.

Starting Pay and Benefits

• Starting pay: $20.94 an hour, with potential to earn up to $29 an hour after four years.

What You Will Do

• Manual case selection using Lucas headset system and double electric pallet jack.
• Takes orders to loading dock for shipment.
• Shift starts at 9:00am and continues until the work is complete.

What You Will Need to Succeed

• Must be 18 or older and able to work weekends.
• Able to pass a 90 lbs over the head lift test.
• Able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift up to 90 lbs.
• Able to walk/stand for long periods of time.
• Able to work in varying temperatures (from room temp to -30°).
