About the role
Warehouse Order Selector in a supportive, team-driven environment within a fast-growing, family-owned foodservice distribution company. Responsibilities
- Accurately, safely and efficiently select merchandise from shelves and other storage areas using electric pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Demonstrate general knowledge of packaging and product—including the ability to identify and build pallets with dry, chill and frozen items.
- Apply labels accurately with correct placement and correct product to ensure outbound product is properly stacked, sequenced and securely wrapped.
- Operate a voice selection system, WMS/ERP and related hardware devices in accordance with specific job functions.
- Practice proper body mechanics and Accident Prevention Program (APP) protocols.
- Demonstrate knowledge and abide by federal and state regulations as they pertain to HAZMAT, OSHA and food safety requirements.
- Operate all working equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English as it relates to the job and safety regulations.
- Ability to support a team environment by meeting attendance expectations with consistency and punctuality.
- Ability to meet productivity standards in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to pass a background check, pre-employment drug screen and physical abilities test.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous distribution center or food service experience preferred.
Physical demands
- Frequently stand/walk during selection activities during shift.
- Frequently bend and twist retrieving items from floor or lower shelf areas.
- Frequently lift using both hands/arms reaching, grasping and carrying weights up to 50 lbs., occasionally up to 65 lbs., rarely up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to exert pull force up to 50 lbs., rarely up to 120 lbs.
- Visual and hearing abilities required as they relate to the job and safety regulations.
- Frequently climb on and off pallet jacks and/or forklifts while safely operating a pallet jack and/or forklift; stepping on and off a 10” platform.
Pay
Starting pay is between $27.00 per hour to $27.91 per hour.
Schedule
Sunday–Thursday, 6:00 pm to 2:30 am, with potential for overtime including Fridays.
