Warehouse Order Picker/Packer Part Time Seasonal Evening Hours - $18.00 plus $1.50 shift premium pay an hour!

About the role

Join Scholastic Book Fairs and help schools create lifelong readers by packing and preparing book fair materials for nationwide events. These part-time seasonal roles support our busy periods during the school year and are typically off during summer and winter breaks.

Responsibilities

• Pack metal cases, boxes, and displays with books and non-book products according to corporate procedures and quality standards.
• Unpack returned book fairs and process materials for reuse.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure accurate packing of book fairs.
• Use scanners to check inventory and request replenishment as needed.
• Pick and pack customer reorders.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Participate in seasonal inventory production-line resets and Fair Finishing/Assembly tasks, including Quality Assurance scanning.
• Assist with physical inventory counts and Customer Appreciation Warehouse Sale Events.
• Handle merchandise carefully and operate warehouse equipment safely.
• Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, or injuries immediately.
• Use proper lifting, packing, and handling techniques for heavy objects, ladders, and display cases.
• Complete Labor Data Collection Cards accurately and on time.
• May operate motorized pallet jacks after completing required training.
• Maintain attendance, punctuality, and a positive relationship with coworkers and customers.
• Comply with the company’s drug- and alcohol-free policy.

Requirements

• Ability to meet productivity, accuracy, and quality standards.
• Basic scanner proficiency for inventory management.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Basic math skills and ability to read English documents such as safety rules and operating instructions.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift boxes up to 50 lbs occasionally and up to 30 lbs to a height of 70” daily.
• Ability to push wheeled cases weighing over 300 lbs with initial force up to 50 lbs and sustained force up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to stand, reach above and below shoulders, squat, bend, and kneel as needed.
• Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned environment.
• Ability to follow detailed assembly instructions accurately.

Pay

$18.00 per hour plus a $1.50 shift premium for hours worked between 2 PM and 6 AM.

Schedule

Part-time seasonal role with hours typically Monday through Friday, 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Off during summer and winter school breaks.
