About the role
We are seeking an Order Picker/Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team at Josam Company in Michigan City, IN. This role plays a crucial part in our warehouse operations, ensuring that orders are accurately selected and prepared for shipment.
Primary Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Operate a forklift to navigate the warehouse and pull orders as per the picking lists.
- Ensure accurate picking by verifying part numbers, quantities, and locations.
- Safely load and unload material onto pallets or shelving.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Aid in other warehouse duties such as receiving, shipping, and inventory management as needed.
- Always adhere to safety standards and protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience using warehouse management software (WMS) or similar systems.
- Proven ability to work independently.
- Previous forklift and order picking experience is required along with the ability to lift 40 pounds.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of production procedures and equipment (training will be provided).
- Willingness to adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Flexibility to work overtime or different shifts as needed.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures in a warehouse setting.
- Knowledge of plumbing or drainage parts is a plus.
- Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.

Working Conditions
- While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site in a manufacturing facility.
- You will be required to work at the Josam Facility located in Michigan City, IN.
- Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to push and pull up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to physically move around manufacturing floor.
- Ability to read documents and communicate clearly with management and coworkers.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment, which may include, but is not limited to, safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
