Warehouse Order Fulfillment - 1st Shift, Pennsylvania Steel Company, Carnegie, PA

Pennsylvania Steel is a privately held metals distribution company with over 50 years in business, operating 13 locations across the East, Southeast, Northeast, and Midwestern United States. Headquartered in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, we are seeking a dependable and personable individual to join our team as a full-time, permanent Order Puller in our Carnegie, PA warehouse.

About the role

This position involves handling various types of metals by hand or via material handling equipment to fulfill work orders and packaging according to customer specifications. The role reports to the Branch Warehouse Manager and operates on a 1st shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical tasks related to work order fulfillment, including order pulling, material handling, and packaging.
• Maintain a clean and safe workspace while adhering to all safety and quality guidelines outlined in the PA Steel Safety Manual and Employee Handbook.
• Follow quality measures and packaging instructions as specified by customer requirements or PA Steel supervision.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• Understanding of and ability to operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes.
• Proficiency in Windows-based software, decimals, fractions, and measuring tools (tape measures, micrometers).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work safely in an environment with machinery, overhead cranes, and moving equipment.
• Capability to work a full shift on your feet with minimal stationary time.
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and access forklifts and truck beds.
• Capacity for medium/heavy manual work, frequently handling over 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• Tolerance for temperature extremes in an open warehouse environment.
