Warehouse Operator - Urgent Need

Location: Woburn, MA • Duration: 3 Months • Hours: 40/week • Pay: $16–20/hr • Shift: 8-hour day (9 AM–5 PM; training for first 2 weeks is 6 AM–2:30 PM) • Employment Type: W2 Contract (US Citizens or Green-Card holders only)

Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED, or 1 year of relevant work experience
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks or projects
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced distribution environment
  • Ability to read and interpret distribution documents
  • Ability to work well with others and under minimal supervision
  • May be required to operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and use Voice/RF scanning devices
  • Ability to perform in a metrics-driven environment
  • Basic analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • General distribution knowledge
  • Normal field of vision corrected to 20/40 in each eye
  • Hearing sufficient to safely operate equipment in a manufacturing/distribution setting

Responsibilities

  • Check in/out all containers in accordance with established parameters
  • Control inbound/outbound flows
  • Perform container security checks to confirm all safety and quality standards are met
  • Record door/yard assignments into the Yard Management System (YMS) and direct drivers to proper yard locations
  • Confirm paperwork accuracy and completeness
  • Assist in tracking and reporting data pertinent to receipt/dispatch
  • Log all discrepancies (e.g., broken seals, non-matching seals), noting date, time, Bill of Lading (BOL) number, and recording driver’s license number and sign-off
  • Follow all safety instructions to maintain safe working conditions and adhere to proper operating practices and procedures
  • Perform job activities in a safe and reasonable manner in accordance with safety requirements
  • Assist in maintaining warehouse security and conduct all activities to promote a safe environment
  • Report all injuries, accidents, unsafe acts, hazards, or conditions immediately
  • Report any suspicious persons or activity
  • Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP) as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Train new hires on various warehouse functions as required
  • Cross-train to become knowledgeable with the responsibilities of other warehouse positions and act as backup during absences or vacations

  • May require lifting over 50 lbs in some areas (not all)
  • Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels
  • Frequent exposure to work near moving mechanical equipment and precarious situations
  • Potential exposure to temperature excursions
  • Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles
  • Pre-employment physical exam required
