Warehouse Operator - Multi-Skill (m / f / d)

About the Role

Sikla USA Inc., a subsidiary of the German-Austrian Sikla Group and manufacturer of modular steelwork and pipe support systems, is seeking a highly capable Warehouse Operator - Multi-Skill. This role is open to U.S.-based candidates with a background in warehouse operations and prefabrication (preferred). The position supports all warehouse processes, material handling, order picking, machine operation, and prefabrication activities, ensuring quality, safety, and operational efficiency across all workflows.

Duties & Key Responsibilities

• Operate multiple forklift types safely and efficiently, including Multi-Directional units (e.g., CombiLift), Stand-up reach trucks, Sit-Down counterbalance forklifts, Cherry Picker / Order Picker, and (Walkie) Reach Stacker
• Perform safe operation in narrow aisles, high racks, and tight warehouse environments; precise handling of long goods, pallets, and steel components
• Conduct daily forklift inspections and report equipment issues; maintain a high safety standard and minimize operational risks
• Offload, unpack, count, and check inbound goods; load, pack, and stage outbound shipments
• Perform accurate order picking and material handling for daily warehouse operations; conduct quality checks on Goods In / Goods Out
• Ensure correct inventory placement and location accuracy; use ERP and Microsoft Office for basic warehouse processes
• Support tight schedules, deadlines, and customer requirements; organize packaging, labeling, tagging, and bagging
• Maintain daily cleaning, 5S standards, and a structured environment; cover for colleagues during absences; follow instructions from Warehouse Management
• Perform prefabrication tasks including assembly, cutting, measuring, shaping, and preparing steel and metal components
• Operate fabrication equipment such as band saws and other cutting machinery; read and interpret measurements, schematics, and blueprints
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently; maintain production schedules to ensure timely delivery
• Perform basic equipment maintenance and safety checks; document work progress and report deviations or issues; ensure high quality and adherence to safety standards

Requirements, Qualifications & Skills

• Strong skills in forklift operation across multiple equipment types
• Good imperial/metric measurement skills
• Solid understanding of standard warehouse processes (Goods In / Goods Out)
• High productivity, accuracy, and ability to meet tight deadlines
• Ability to contribute positively in a team environment; strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently under pressure; keen attention to detail, safety-focused
• Flexible, willing to learn, proactive, and hands-on; ability to maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Minimum 5 years of experience operating multiple forklift types (Stand-Up, Sit-Down, Cherry Picker, Multi-Directional/CombiLift)
• Minimum 5 years of warehouse or distribution experience
• Minimum 3–5 years of prefabrication, machine operation, or metal cutting (e.g., Saw Operator, Machine Operator, Fabrication Technician)
• Forklift certification required (or willingness to obtain certification)
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs independently

Schedule

• Full-Time: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (including a 1-hour lunch break)
