Warehouse Operator

About the role

The Material Handler II is responsible for the safe, accurate loading and unloading of product within the distribution center. Duties include pallet/case picking, pallet building, inbound/outbound/inventory movement, material handling equipment operation, safety and security, quality, sanitation and housekeeping, hazmat training, cross-training, and physical demands.

Responsibilities

• Pallet/Case Picking: Processing customer orders, scanning bar codes, picking and labeling boxes, packing and processing orders, using RF technology, maintaining work area, following GDP, completing RF device training, verifying accuracy, packaging shipments.
• Pallet Build: Scanning, retrieving, placing completed orders on pallets, re-palletizing products, dock manifest duties, operating shrink wrapper, transporting pallets by MHE, verifying accuracy, packaging shipments.
• Inbound/Outbound/Inventory Movement: Loading/unloading inbound/outbound shipments using WMS, ensuring safety and preventing damages, completing assigned duties, operating parcel manifest station, transportation documentation, reporting issues, maintaining work area, obtaining necessary profiles, following GDP, adhering to safety instructions.
• Material Handling Equipment: Operating MHE safely, reporting damage/maintenance issues, keeping equipment neat/orderly, maintaining equipment certification, performing tasks in a safe manner.
• Safety and Security: Performing job activities safely, maintaining warehouse security, reporting incidents, assisting in security, performing tasks in a safe environment.
• Quality: Understanding organizational quality goals, maintaining cleanliness, reading/distributing distribution documents, working well with others, performing tasks under minimal supervision, operating MHE and voice/RF scanner, performing in a metrics-driven environment, demonstrating analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• Hazmat Training: Providing general awareness, function-specific, security awareness, and safety training.
• Cross-training: Becoming knowledgeable with other warehouse positions, assisting during absences/vacation, performing tasks as required.

Requirements

• High School diploma, GED, or 2 years of relevant experience required.
• Experience with MHE, including order pickers, reach trucks, counter balance (slip and clamp), and dock stocker.
• Ability to obtain Forklift Certification to meet Client guidelines.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced distribution environment.
• Ability to read and interpret distribution documents.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision.
• May be required to operate MHE and use Voice/RF scanner.
• Ability to perform/operate in a metrics-driven environment.
• Basic analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills.
• General distribution knowledge.
• Exposure to work near moving mechanical equipment.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without accommodation.

Qualifications
