Warehouse Operator

Responsibilities

• Under some supervision, follow established procedures and guidelines to receive, handle, store, perform system transactions and dispatch goods in a factory or warehouse.
• Check for damage and for discrepancies between goods and invoices.
• Accurately sort, label, store goods and arrange storage to optimize warehouse space.
• Pick, pack, and dispatch incoming and outgoing goods according to written or verbal requests/orders.
• Operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery.
• Maintain clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping tasks and machine cleaning tasks and perform planned operator care and maintenance tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
• Requires certification to operate powered industrial vehicles (reach trucks, order pickers, pallet rider, etc..) and/or other heavy machinery.
• Previous warehouse experience is required, stock picker experience preferred.
• Must be able to physically lift 50 pounds occasionally, wear required personal protective equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
• 1–3 years of shipping, receiving, or warehouse experience (preferred).
• Basic computer skills (Excel, email, shipping software).
• Forklift certification (preferred or willing to obtain).

Physical Requirements

• Warehouse and parts department setting.
• Exposure to varying temperatures and equipment noise.
• Interaction with carriers, vendors, and internal staff.
