Your Role and Responsibilities
Receive/unload and prepare/load liquid and dry chemical products from/to trucks, tankers, and railcars. This work is physical and requires attention to detail as follows:
- Maneuver and connect/disconnect transfer hoses
- Climb up tanks, tankers and railcars to open/close top hatches and monitor load
- Inspect tanks, tankers and railcars before and after loading/unloading operations
- Verify product against receiving/shipping documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and damages
- Product sampling and quality control in conjunction with lab personnel
- Maintain accurate receiving/shipping logs. Record amounts of product received or distributed via appropriate computer program
- Pick and stage product for delivery in accordance with specifications on customer orders or other instructions
- Operation of powered and manual industrial lift trucks (with certification) to transport product in the warehouse, and maintain daily forklift checklist
- Move raw materials to the production area and move finished products to the warehouse
- Able to lift and carry bags, pails, boxes, and pallets varying distances
- Able to stage and remove product packaging in complex storage racking within operating areas and warehouses
- Repackage product into proper containers for storage or shipment. This work is physical and requires attention to detail:
- Fill cylinders, drums, totes, pails or tankers with product and route to prescribed storage locations making sure of proper labelling, storing, stacking, or palletizing according to company and regulatory requirements
- Give special attention to packaging, loading and storing of food grade and USP items
- Operate electronic scale and process devices
- Carefully store hazardous waste drums in the prescribed area in full compliance with hazardous waste regulations
Inventory Management
Responsibility for inventory:
- Examine stored product and report deterioration and damage
- Rearrange stored materials
- Assist in counting of physical inventory
General Maintenance
Ensure warehouse is clean, accessible and safe for all visitors and workers
- When spills occur, responsible for immediate reporting and cleanup
- Protect property from theft or damage
Other Duties
Other duties as assigned, including mixing and blending as required
Your Profile
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or US military experience
- Candidates with prior experience in working with chemical operations (2+ years) may be considered if education or service requirements are not fully met
- Possess or able to pass exam to obtain Forklift Operators certification and demonstrate ability to operate a forklift safely
- Ability to read, comprehend and carry out detailed and simple instructions in English and write simple correspondence
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
- Ability to learn and operate technology-based devices such as smart phones, tablets, computers, PLCs, operational technology equipment, etc. to carry out normal business operations
- Meet or exceed production requirements based on information and or equipment used in the course of work performance
- Wear safety equipment as prescribed by company
- Comply with placarding rules when loading or unloading trucks
Job Requirements

- Participate in ongoing safety program including safety meetings and trainings
- Must be available to work any days of the week, any assigned 8-12 hour shift
- Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed
- Good safety and attendance record
- Ability to work cooperatively with other departments and personnel
- Observe, follow and enforce all company policies and procedures
Physical Requirements
Able to pass company physical and all training requirements, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment, which may include a respirator
- Able to perform all functions of loading, unloading, packaging, stacking, palletizing, storage, and movement of material
- Able to utilize tools and equipment as necessary to perform job tasks
- Standing and walking for long periods of time, up to 95% of day
- Frequent exposure to outside weather (from 10% to 75% of the time) sometimes in extreme weather conditions
