Warehouse Operations Supervisor - 1st Shift

About the role

An experienced Operations Supervisor is needed to support our new dedicated warehouse in Collierville, TN. You will be responsible for the overall development of associates and for mentoring and coaching a diverse team to success while maximizing productivity, cost savings, quality, and service levels. The ideal candidate must be able to interact with senior management and customers in a productive and professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of an assigned department or shift.
• Maintain high visibility and accessibility to team members on the warehouse floor.
• Establish and maintain facility standards for productivity, reliability, and accuracy.
• Ensure all established policies and procedures are followed by team members.
• Prepare required reports and correspondence as part of administrative duties.
• Manage personnel issues, including determining manpower needs, training, motivating, coaching, disciplining, and assisting in the resolution of personnel issues.
• Set the standard for and oversee housekeeping activities.
• Maintain a working knowledge of all operating systems pertaining to the work area.
• Support Safety Programs and best practices; actively participate in Safety and Behavioral Based Safety Committees.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of supervisor-level experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
• BS/BA Degree or equivalent experience.
• Proven success in maintaining quality, service, and client relationships in a high-paced setting.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, multi-shift environment.
• Proven competencies in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Warehouse management and inventory management systems experience preferred (Manhattan WMS experience a plus).
• Knowledge of ISO/QS procedures and Lean/Six Sigma experience preferred.
