Our Summer Internship Program at Sysco is a 10-week paid program designed to enhance your education by providing real-world experience. Your internship is designed to provide you with the skills and professional experience to take with you well beyond the classroom.

Responsibilities

  • Exposure to relevant projects and challenges in a dynamic environment
  • Equipped with the knowledge, skill, and expertise needed for the next level
  • Work with and be mentored by industry leaders, receiving valuable performance feedback
  • Planned social activities to network with leading industry professionals
  • Variety of learning experiences through training, development, and mentorship while completing a meaningful project to support and drive the business

Qualifications

  • Students pursuing a Bachelor's degree with concentrations in Business Management, Logistics, or Supply Chain
  • Strong academic credentials (Minimum GPA of 2.7)
  • Rising seniors majoring in supply chain strongly preferred

Skills

  • Proven leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Develop an understanding of the Sysco approach, methodology, and tools
  • Identify various business issues and provide solutions via research
  • Establish working relationships with client personnel
  • Exhibit a professional, business-like demeanor
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, handle multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity in a matrix organization
  • Analyze complex issues, reason, think critically, and synthesize information
  • Work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at various levels
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)
  • Integrity, accountability, flexibility, adaptability, and influence

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

  • Sitting, finger dexterity for activities such as data entry, speaking, hearing, visual acuity, and mobility between departments
  • Bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and crouching
  • Extensive telephone work
  • Ability to receive detailed information through both verbal and written communication
  • Able to express or exchange ideas utilizing the spoken word
  • Can lift up to 50 lbs
  • Use of both hands is required

Working Conditions

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The work is performed primarily indoors, and the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
