Our Summer Internship Program at Sysco is a 10-week paid program designed to enhance your education by providing real-world experience. Qualifications

Education

  • Students pursuing a Bachelor's degree with concentrations in Business Management, Logistics, or Supply Chain.
  • Strong academic credentials (Minimum GPA of 2.7).
  • Rising seniors majoring in supply chain strongly preferred.

Professional Skills

  • Proven leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Develop an understanding of the Sysco approach, methodology, and tools.
  • Identify various business issues and provide solutions via research.
  • Establish working relationships with client personnel.
  • Exhibit a professional, business-like demeanor.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, handle multiple assignments, and manage ambiguity in a matrix organization.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues, reason, think critically, and synthesize information.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with professionals at various levels.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).

Physical Demands

  • Sitting, finger dexterity for activities such as data entry, speaking, hearing, visual acuity, and mobility between departments.
  • Work may require bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and crouching; extensive telephone work.
  • Ability to receive detailed information through both verbal and written communication.
  • Able to express or exchange ideas utilizing the spoken word.
  • Can lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Use of both hands is required.

Working Conditions

  • The work is performed primarily indoors.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
