Job Description

The Warehouse Office Operations Associate position at Pennsylvania Steel Company, located in Ashland, VA, involves assisting with shipping, receiving, and inventory organization operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Aid in all shipping, receiving, and inventory organization tasks.
  • Knowledge of shipping and setting up truck routes, including training in UPS, FedEx, and common carrier shipping paperwork.
  • Process incoming and outgoing orders.
  • Receive and process new inventory, ensuring contents match manifest documents.
  • Inspect receivables for defects, damages, or missing items.
  • Label warehouse paperwork for quick and easy identification and retrieval.
  • Perform detailed manual inventory counts and problem-solving inventory history.
  • Use computer programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and warehouse logistics software.
  • Communicate through emails and phone calls.

Experience and Skills

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • Extensive experience with scheduling truck/transportation routes.
  • Proven experience with shipping manifests and shipping documents with all shipping entities.
  • Experience inspecting incoming materials for defects and verifying receipt of all ordered materials.
  • Experience with manual inventory counts and understanding what is in the system.
  • Experience handling incoming and outgoing orders.
  • Knowledge of handling and correcting discrepancies.
