Ryder is hiring Material Handlers in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The position offers weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a career path that prioritizes safety and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Perform warehouse functions such as loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
- Auditing, tote induction, staging of products, and loading/unloading of trucks.
- Dealing with day-to-day paperwork in a warehouse environment (e.g., picking sheets, returns, bills of lading).
- Providing technical and maintenance support for automated packing systems during the core shift hour of production.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience.
- A valid Forklift Operator's License certified.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- The ability to be a team player and work within a diverse work environment.
- The ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors).
- The ability to work within a diverse work environment.
- The ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs.
- The ability to stand for long periods of time.
- The ability to work using health and safety methods.
- The ability to be available to work on a flexible schedule on the various work shifts.
- The ability to perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy, even under pressure.
- The ability to be detail-oriented with excellent follow-up practices.
Qualifications

Pay
- $20.00 per hour base pay.
- $30.00 per hour for overtime.
- $2.00 per hour additional pay for working on the second shift.
Schedule
- Second shift.
- Sunday through Saturday.
- Work 4 days a week.
- Choose 2 out of the 3 days to work the second shift.
- Hours: 4:45 pm - 3:15 am.
