Warehouse Material Handler - 1st shift

About the role
The Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for accurately picking, packaging, and shipping customer orders while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity. This role supports daily warehouse operations by using RF scanners, material handling equipment, and established warehouse procedures to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
Responsibilities
- Pick customer orders accurately using an RF scanner.
- Operate equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely to transport materials and customer orders.
- Package, mark, label, and prepare customer orders for shipment.
- Verify outbound shipments for accuracy and ensure products are free from damage.
- Assist with inventory and cycle counts to help maintain inventory accuracy.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and established warehouse practices.
- Support team members and supervisors in meeting daily production and shipping goals.
- Perform various other warehouse duties and assignments as requested by management to support the overall operation of the department and company.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of warehouse or distribution experience required.
- Experience working in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment preferred.
- Previous experience operating forklifts and other material handling equipment preferred.
- Prior RF scanner experience preferred.
- Basic inventory control or cycle counting experience is a plus.
- Ability to accurately read, understand, and follow customer orders and other paperwork.
- Basic computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
Work Environment
- Overtime and Saturdays may be required during peak business periods.
- Fast-paced warehouse/distribution environment with frequent movement throughout the shift.
- Employees must follow all established safety procedures and requirements while working around warehouse equipment and material handling operations.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
- Occasionally lift or maneuver up to 75 lbs.
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach.
- Safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
Schedule
1st Shift Monday-Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm
Pay
Starting at $17.50/HR (DOE)
