Warehouse Manager/Distribution Superintendent, Pipe & Fittings (Garland, TX)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve warehouse operations: Active Replenishment, Order Pulling Wave Sequence, Productivity and Quality Management, Staging Strategy, House Keeping, Warehouse Layout Improvements, Inventory Management, Truck Load Management, Receiving Strategy, and Order/Picking Accuracy.
• Exercise leadership in organizing warehouse efforts to focus on achieving objectives.
• Control labor expenses by flexing staffing and responding to changing sales volume levels to achieve budgeted plans (cost per pound).
• Conduct cycle counts and annual physical inventories to strive for ongoing finished goods accuracy.
• Perform audits and ensure all quality, safety, and environmental standards are fulfilled.
• Issue work schedules, review employee time records for accuracy, and approve/controlling any overtime.
• Counsel employees about work performance and attendance.
• Issue personnel action notices to document both positive and negative situations.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment for all employees.
• Ensure all employees are following proper company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• 5+ Years experience in managing warehousing or manufacturing for a high volume multi product manufacturer.
• BS degree in business or logistics or equivalent supervisory experience.
• Reading and writing skills sufficient to understand complex documents and explain complex information.
• Proficient in all company computer programs and systems to meet departmental objectives.
• Skills to analyze and interpret data and statistics compiled or presented to the department for use in performing essential functions.
• Reasoning ability to take complex and diverse information or situations and compile information to solve problems in a reasonable fashion.
• Certification in or exposure to Lean/Lean Six-Sigma manufacturing processes.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• All salaried and hourly warehouse employees.

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm with on-call capability and ability to work overtime based on business needs (45-50 hours/week).

Work Location

• This is a fully onsite role. Must be able to commute daily to our Garland, TX facility.

Physical Demands

• Walk or stand for extended periods of time.
• Spend extended periods of time with computer keyboard & screen.
• Maneuver, and work in tight, confined, or hard to reach places.
• Work irregular and/or extended hours on short notice.
• Travel alone.

Work Environment

• 75% office and 25% warehouse exposure.
• Exposed to heat, cold, noise, and dust.
