ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs all areas in the Warehouse including: unloads and receives shipments; transports product to manufacturing; prepares outbound freight shipments; monitors receiving and shipping traffic for Bloomingdale location to ensure efficient utilization of receiving docks and efficient supply of materials to and from contract manufacturers.
  • Works with supervisor to monitor shift’s performance and efficiency throughout the day and corrects or escalates issues to meet daily department goals.
  • Recommends changes related to equipment use and staff to increase efficiency.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of problem areas.
  • Works with other leads, supervisors and support teams to solve issues.
  • Recommends and implements measures to improve safety, product quality, warehouse methods, and equipment performance.
  • Makes employee work duty adjustments and warehouse related decisions.
  • Engages in training and development of employees by mentoring and following up with team members on a regular basis (including new employees), reinforcing company policies, culture, and expectations, ensuring they feel supported, are receiving proper guidance, training, resources and are adapting to the company’s culture and team.
  • Works with supervisor to include any gaps into their training plan and ensures all employees are current on required training.
  • Operates all warehouse machinery (i.e. PIT) in a proficient and safe manner.
  • Through collaboration with the supervisor or manager, assigns jobs and tasks and monitors the warehouse processes.
  • Reviews and verifies employees' paperwork before turning into the Quality Control department for approval.
  • Closes warehouse record reports and informs inventory control personnel of any raw material discrepancies.
  • Interprets and explains company policies, specifications and job orders to employees.
  • Responds to and answers questions from employees.
  • Communicates with other departments to provide supplies, products and equipment necessary to meet Production schedules.
  • Participates in root cause analysis and other plant continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Works closely with supervisors and cross-functional teams to identify trends and areas of improvement and implement and sustain continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, production methods, equipment performance, and efficiency.
  • Complies with OSHA guidelines, safety policies, food safety and cGMP guidelines. Ensures through monitoring and coaching that the Warehouse team is following all guidelines and policies.

  • Participates on safety teams and/or completes safety-related activities as part of regular job responsibilities.
