About the Role
As a Mini Melts Route Jumper, you will act as a fill-in to complete customer deliveries that cannot be completed by our everyday route drivers. Whether covering for an employee call-out or handling high-volume deliveries, you will be responsible for completing deliveries as needed. When not on the road, you will assist with general warehouse duties under the direction of the Warehouse Manager.
Responsibilities
On the Road
- Drive a 26 ft box truck, 16 ft box truck, or van depending on the day.
- Deliver to various customer locations, including GNG Customers, Wholesale Customers, and Vending Locations.
- Accurately document truck inventory and product movement to and from customer locations.
- Safely collect, secure, and transport funds from customer locations to the office.
- Perform minor repairs to freezers and vending machines.
- Deliver, move, and install vending machines, Grab N Go freezers, and equipment to and from locations.
- Communicate effectively with management regarding all aspects of daily operations during and at the end of each shift.
- Meet customer service expectations through daily communication, problem-solving, and follow-ups.
- Daily start time is 8 am, but start times and weekend work may vary depending on customer needs.
In the Warehouse
- Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipping using established warehouse procedures.
- Receive all supplies and equipment using warehouse receiving tickets, packing slips, and receiving product checklists.
- Inspect and verify all incoming shipments prior to acceptance.
- Process, package, and stage equipment for shipping as directed by the Warehouse Manager.
- Assemble and fill GNG Freezers.
- Clean and refurbish returned freezers and vending machines.
- Load and unload trucks daily.
- Perform periodic inventory counting.
- Handle ice cream products quickly and efficiently without loss or damage.
- Perform general warehouse cleaning and maintenance.
- Handle dry ice regularly.
- Assist the Warehouse Manager with special projects or other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to work in -40°F temperatures for up to 15 minutes at a time.
- Ability to repeatedly lift 50 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to operate an electric pallet jack (forklift experience is a plus).
- Must pass pre-employment background screening and drug test.
- Must successfully pass a standard DOT physical examination and obtain a valid certification.
- Ability to work at least 28 hours per week (part-time position).
- Shifts are 8 am–6 pm, with availability required Monday through Friday plus weekends.
- Basic math skills.
Skills
