Warehouse Generalist

Responsibilities

• Reads production schedule, customer order, work order, shipping order, or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as type or product code.
• Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves or conveys orders to packing station or shipping department.
• Marks materials with identifying information.
• Ensures warehouse security during business hours.
• Demonstrate good customer service skills with both internal and external customers.
• Comply with all applicable policies and procedures

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One to three months related experience and/or training
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Physical Demands

• May also engage in substantial walking, frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling of parts and part containers
• Due to the open environment of the warehouse, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions including extreme heat, humidity and cold
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision
• The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and rarely up to 70 and up to 100 lbs. with assistance
• The employee is required to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time

Education/Experience
