Warehouse General

About the role

Coordinates and/or performs the shipping, receiving, and material handling responsibilities in the instructional/custodial warehouse area. Responsible for the inventory management and accuracy, order filling, as well as the movement of materials into and out of the facility. Provides customer service via email and walk-in requests.

Responsibilities

• Receives and processes warehouse orders, issues warehouse stock, and packs for shipment to Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) locations (pick up, unload, label, store)
• Processes all warehouse transactions in the warehouse management/inventory system in Oracle
• Inspects and reviews incoming stock to determine purchase order compliance
• Assigns and maintains stocking locations of product, in accordance with established warehouse procedures
• Conducts periodic physical inventories and cycle counts, to insure a high degree of inventory accuracy
• Safely operates a forklift to complete warehouse duties
• Perform other duties, as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two years of shipping/receiving or general warehouse experience
• Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license according to the State of North Carolina requirements
• Within six months of the hire date successfully complete training and certification requirements as a forklift operator

Qualifications

Considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point; Google Apps; Working knowledge of the principles of warehouse operations as it relates to shipping, receiving, and inventory management; Effective time management skills; Excellent customer service skills; Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback; Ability to understand basic math concepts; Ability to work independently without close supervision; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system staff.
