Reports to: Warehouse Shift Manager. Hourly position.
About the Role
Warehouse receiver is responsible for efficient, safe, and accurate unloading of transport trucks and performing assigned warehouse maintenance tasks.
Responsibilities
- Report to work on time and clock in and out properly.
- Keep all warehouse loading and unloading areas and grounds clean.
- Fill racks, pick lines, and all pick locations.
- Push/pull pallets and load/unload appropriate company products.
- Use and understand RF guns and functions of Location Based Inventory.
- Unload inbound and outbound freight.
- Ensure loads are done accurately and neatly.
- Sweep, mop, and restock pick area, keeping work area clean.
- Replenish all pick locations and areas.
- Assist in all functions of warehouse maintenance.
- Restock and rework returned beer.
- Visually inspect all cases unloaded to ensure they are in saleable condition.
- Be aware of code dates and load the oldest product first.
- Report any accidents to manager on duty immediately.
- Provide the receiving report to the Warehouse Manager for verification after unloading each truck.
- Remove all empty pallets from the pick area and store them properly before the end of each shift.
- Clear the pick area of debris and stretch wrap at the end of the truck unloading process each day.
- Obtain forklift certification through the company.
- Maintain open and clear communications with owners, managers, employees, vendors, and retailers.
- Obtain approval from the Warehouse Manager prior to working in excess of your regular schedule.
- Dress in uniform and maintain personal appearance in a professional manner according to company policy.
- Conduct all activities within the guidelines of company policies and local, state, and federal liquor control regulations.
- Perform all work activities in accordance with safe work practices, policies, and procedures.
- Adhere to all established inventory control procedures and practices.
- Assist second and third shifts with loading carts/pallet trucks as needed.
- Adapt to new responsibilities required by the Warehouse Manager or Operations Manager.
- Represent GDH Values within the community at all times.
Requirements
- Minimum of high school diploma.
- Basic computer skills.
- Previous use of warehouse equipment (e.g., walkie rider, pallet jack, forklift, scanners).
- Highly motivated to reach goals.
- Comfortable working as a team or alone.
- Access to reliable transportation.
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance if driving an automobile on company business.
- Must pass a background check, MVR, and drug screen.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with internal and external individuals.
- Work effectively as a member of a team.
- Effectively communicate.
- Manage time and work effectively with or without supervision.
Working Conditions / Physical Demands
- Constant (67–100% of time) walking, talking, and hearing.
- Constant (67–100% of time) standing, sitting, using hands to handle objects/tools, and reaching with hands and arms.
- Constant (67–100% of time) lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently (34–66% of time) required vision abilities including close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
- Constant (67–100% of time) exposure to moving mechanical equipment and fumes or airborne particles.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
- Occasional (more than 10%) weekend and/or overtime work.
