Warehouse Forklift Operator 1st Shift

About the role

Ryder is hiring a Temporary to Permanent Material Handler in York, Pennsylvania. This is a first-shift warehouse position in a clean, organized, well-run facility focused on providing the safest supply chain environment.

Products handled: Motorcycle and automotive parts.

Equipment: Ability to learn and operate powered industrial equipment, including reach trucks and sit-down forklifts. Various warehouse fulfillment specialist roles at Ryder support distribution across the US.

Responsibilities

• Perform warehouse functions including loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting
• Perform duties within performance measurement guidelines of the contract
• Accurately pick and pack, audit, induct totes, stage products, and load and unload trucks
• Handle day-to-day warehouse paperwork (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.)
• Provide technical and maintenance support for automated packing systems during core production shift hours
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One (1) year or more related warehouse and/or powered industrial truck experience preferred
• Valid Forklift Operator's License certified
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
• Ability to work within a diverse work environment
• Ability to create and maintain professional relationships across all organizational levels (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)
• Highly thorough and dependable
• Punctual with a good attendance record
• Ability to perform work independently with minimal supervision
• High degree of initiative
• High level of accuracy, even under pressure
• Ability to lift and/or push/pull up to 35 lbs

Pay

• Hourly rate: $18.50 per hour
• Overtime rate: $27.75 per hour
• Weekly pay

Schedule

• First Shift: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 am–5:30 pm
• Fridays as needed
