Warehouse Forklift Labor
About the role
The Warehouse Forklift Operator works in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with changing priorities throughout the day. The primary responsibilities include moving and storing materials based on production work orders.
Responsibilities
- Collects and delivers raw materials, semi-finished, and finished products.
- Rotates stock, loads and unloads skids, and bands material before moving product.
- Identifies material to ensure the correct material is supplied.
- Moves and stores materials and keeps assigned areas supplied with material.
- Works from schedules, production orders, and instructions.
- Clears and moves scrap.
- Assists in other departments and works on the lines as necessary.
- Maintains forklift truck by placing it on charge and notifying supervision when the truck is not operating properly.
- Completes daily forklift safety inspection.
- Completes cycle counts as required.
- Maintains material storage areas as required.
- Ensures all material is properly labeled prior to transport.
- Must attain a good understanding of HFI and mill claim processes.
- Follows all safety rules and keeps the work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least three to five years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
- Exposure/experience in manufacturing.
- Forklift Certified.
- Understands quality, PPE requirements, safety, and the importance of complying with safety policies and procedures.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to walk and stand. The position involves pushing, pulling, climbing, handling, reaching, stretching, and working in tight and high places. Environmental conditions include inside work with extremes of heat (100+ degrees seasonal), exposure to humidity, working in tight areas, high noise levels from the production environment, some exposure to outside weather elements, oil, and dirt.
Pay
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00 an hour. The exact pay offered will depend on the candidate’s experience and skills.
