Warehouse Forklift Driver -Days

Essential Functions

• Operates a lift truck continually on shift.
• Proficient in driving backwards and looking in the direction of travel on a continual basis.
• Performs routine inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles and auxiliary equipment.
• Inspects product for damage or contamination.
• Moves and places product safely and securely in storage locations.
• Stages product for outbound loads with correct requirements.
• Removes and empties waste bins into proper receptacles.
• Moves controls to drive lift trucks and transport materials.
• Lifts and secures material or products for transport to designated areas.
• Loads or unloads materials onto or off pallets, skids, platforms, or lifting devices.
• Operates a powered air supplied respirator to perform cleaning functions.
• Performs housekeeping duties in department/areas.

Position Qualifications

• Attendance - Ability to work required schedule and arrive at work on time. Ability and willingness to work the voluntary/mandatory overtime that is required during busy season.
• Communication - Ability to effectively communicate in writing and verbally in a courteous and professional manner with others. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instruction.
• Mathematics - Ability to perform basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals.
• Language - Ability to identify and compare letters and numbers. Ability to read and interpret documents such as receivers, invoices, operating instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and write simple sentences.
• Diversity Oriented - Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type.
• Relationship Building - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, co-workers and management.

• Paperwork - Completion - Ability to complete necessary paperwork neatly and accurately and according to established guidelines. Ability to properly count, document or scan the number of units as needed by the function that is being performed.
• Paperwork - Verification - Ability to verify paperwork necessary to ensure customer is receiving correct product. Ability to inspect condition of product received and product going out to ensure quality.

Education & Experience

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.
• Two (2) years related experience in warehouse or manufacturing environment.

Skills & Abilities

• Basic computer or tablet skills; hand-held radio.
• Forklift Certification preferred. Must be able to complete Holman’s forklift certification program.
