Warehouse Equipment Operator, 1st Shift

About the role

As a Warehouse Equipment Operator, you will take charge of operating forklifts and reach trucks to efficiently load and unload products from inbound and outbound trailers. You will also manage inventory by stocking, rotating, and ensuring everything is in its proper place.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment such as forklifts with slip-sheet attachments, reach trucks (up to 35 feet), and rider jacks
• Handle loading and unloading at the dock, down-stocking, re-stocking, and rotating dated products
• Use scanner guns or wands to inspect shipments for errors or defects and document any discrepancies
• Perform routine quality checks to identify and report damages, shortages, or errors
• Maintain and operate warehouse equipment safely

Requirements

• High school education (completed)
• Knowledge of basic math
• Ability to lift products up to 75 lbs, several times throughout the day with or without reasonable accommodation
• Must wear proper safety equipment, including steel-toed shoes and safety glasses, at all times
• Complete safety training before operating warehouse equipment; full participation is essential

Qualifications

• Sharp eye for detail with close attention to stock numbers, defects in inventory, and surroundings
• Strong commitment to safety
• Previous forklift experience preferred, but candidates without prior experience who are willing and able to complete training and obtain forklift certification are welcome

Pay

• Warehouse Equipment Operator starts at $21.50/hr
• $0.50/hr increase at 6 months of employment
• Another $0.50/hr increase at one year of employment
• $3/hr shift differential for any shift that starts from 12 PM or later (off-shifts)
• Quarterly and holiday bonuses available
