Role Summary
The Warehouse Operator supports Construction and Service operations in and around the Westbury, NY area by performing day-to-day warehouse operations, managing inventory, and logistics support.Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day warehouse operations independently while maintaining required inventory levels
- Receive stock and non-stock items, verifying specifications, quantity, and quality
- Load and unload deliveries to support Construction and Service departments
- Pick up and deliver parts, tools, and equipment to various job sites as needed
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and efficiently
- Maintain an organized warehouse layout to support efficient workflow
- Research discrepancies on orders and packing slips and coordinate returns with vendors
- Manage inventory records, identify losses, and assist with returns management
- Distribute incoming packages to the appropriate departments
- Ensure all warehouse and storage areas are clean, organized, and free of safety hazards
- Support upkeep of company shop vans and trucks
- Haul waste materials to approved disposal locations as required
- Perform general facility cleaning tasks such as trash removal, mopping, and light groundskeeping
- Comply with all company policies, safety procedures, and applicable standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Service Manager
Skills and Qualifications
- 2–5 years of warehouse experience, including forklift operation
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Current DOT medical card or ability to obtain one
- Ability to safely operate vehicles with manual and automatic transmissions
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read and understand safety manuals, policies, and work instructions
- Ability to interact professionally with a diverse workforce
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and internet-based systems
- Ability to accurately enter data into internal and customer systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience and/or working knowledge of HVAC/R equipment
- Prior experience supporting construction or field service teams
- Familiarity with inventory management systems
